Gevorg Avetisyan is a distinguished flutist, celebrated for his artistry as a solo performer, orchestral musician, and educator. He is a recipient of the highest appreciation award from the Ministry of Culture of Armenia—a Golden Medal—recognizing his outstanding contributions to the field of classical music.
Born and trained in Armenia, Avetisyan studied at the Specialized Secondary Music School after Tchaikovsky before earning his Master’s Degree from the Yerevan State Conservatoire after Komitas. His career has led him to prominent positions in Armenia’s leading orchestras, serving as an orchestra soloist and concertmaster with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theater. He has also performed as a soloist with the State Ensemble of Soloists of the National Center of Chamber Music and is a member of the Piano-Woodwind Quartet after A. Harutyunian.
A sought-after musician, Avetisyan has participated in masterclasses with renowned flutists such as Michael Hasel (Berliner Philharmoniker), Felix Renggli, Philippe Racine, Anna-Catharina Graff, and Paolo Tabalione. His solo recitals and orchestral performances have taken him beyond Armenia’s borders, including appearances at the prestigious Young Euro-Classic Festival in Berlin.
Alongside his performing career, Avetisyan is dedicated to music education. Since 2020, he has been a faculty member at the Yerevan State Conservatoire, mentoring the next generation of flutists.
With his expressive tone, technical brilliance, and deep musical insight, Gevorg Avetisyan continues to leave a lasting impact on the classical music scene.
